Direct School Admission (DSA) Secondary School Exercise 2014
St Joseph’s Convent’s niche is The Art of Communication through Theatre and Debates. 5% of the 2014 Secondary One student places at SJC are available on a discretionary basis to applicants.
SJC welcomes students who possess a strong command of the English Language, aptitude and passion in performing arts/debates, and interest in social issues to apply for DSA.
Admission Criteria
1. Academic Qualifications and Profile
Applicants need to have demonstrated determination and seriousness towards academic work, and a good disciplinary record.
2. Audition and Interview
Micro performance (dramatization and/or music and dance)
OR
Oral presentation
Useful but not compulsory
3. Achievements at national competitions/ internationally recognized certification (Drama, Dance, Music, Debates)/ Participation and level of representation in school/public performances.
Application Procedure
1. The application form may be downloaded HERE. Hardcopies are available from SJC’s General Office during office hours (Mon-Friday, 9-5pm)
2. Please attach the following supporting documents to the application form:
- Result slips for Primary 5 (Overall End-of-year Examination) and Primary 6 (Mid-year Examination)
- Portfolio/ Certification/ Co-Curricular Activities records
- Other relevant supporting documents
3. Applications are to reach the school by Monday, 8 July 2013, 5pm. Please send to:

Applicants will be short listed for trial and/or interview scheduled on Wednesday, 17 July and Friday, 19 July 2013. Applicants will be informed of the time and venue at least 5 working days prior to the date.
4. All applications will be notified by Friday, 30 August 2013 of their results.
